About the Role
Lead the architecture, engineering and global scaling of Gateway's AI and technology platforms.
Gateway has built working AI-enabled platforms across education, health and enterprise. The CTO mandate is to industrialize them: architecture fit for millions of users, engineering discipline fit for global markets, and a technology organization that ships reliably.
This is not a maintenance role. We are not recruiting senior people simply to operate systems that already exist — we are looking for leaders who can build what does not yet exist. The appointment carries a clearly defined mandate, meaningful decision authority and direct accountability for measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technology architecture of Gateway's AI products and platforms across education, health and enterprise.
- Build and lead a world-class engineering organization in Lahore — hiring, standards, velocity and retention.
- Run production AI/LLM and API infrastructure with measurable reliability, latency and cost discipline.
- Design cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity governance fit for international customers and regulators.
- Industrialize product delivery — release cadence, quality gates and observability that leadership can see.
- Scale systems internationally: multi-region, multi-tenant and compliant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (or an equivalent proven track record).
- 15+ years in software/technology, including 5+ years in senior engineering leadership (CTO, VP Engineering or equivalent).
- At least one significant platform personally led from development into live production at scale.
- Hands-on depth across cloud infrastructure, APIs, cybersecurity and modern AI/LLM stacks.
- Evidence of building, leading and retaining senior engineering teams.

Requirements
Experience We Are Looking For
You have taken at least one significant software or technology platform from concept or development into live production at scale. You have led large engineering teams, owned cloud cost and reliability, and made hard build/buy/kill decisions. Production AI/LLM experience is strongly preferred.
