About the Role
University of South Asia is hiring an Academic Coordinator for the Maya Tutor – Interactive Spoken English Program, BISE Matriculation and Intermediate, in Lahore, Pakistan. You will lead the academic planning, development, structuring and quality assurance of the program, so that students develop practical English-speaking skills through structured lessons, real-life dialogues and interactive AI-based learning with Maya Tutor.

Job Purpose
To lead the academic planning, development, structuring, and quality assurance of the Maya Tutor Interactive Spoken English Program, ensuring that students develop practical English-speaking skills through structured lessons, real-life dialogues, vocabulary building, grammar practice, pronunciation, and interactive AI-based learning.
The Academic Coordinator will transform the program vision into a systematic, engaging, measurable, and scalable learning experience.
Authority and Accountability
The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for academic standards, curriculum consistency, content quality, and timely completion of assigned development work.
The role will coordinate with management for approval of curriculum direction, major content changes, production priorities, and academic performance targets.
Overall Objective
To build a high-quality, structured, interactive spoken English program through which students progressively develop the ability to understand, speak, and communicate confidently in real-life situations.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development
- Develop a structured curriculum with clearly defined learning levels.
- Establish learning objectives and outcomes for every lesson.
- Sequence lessons from basic to advanced spoken English.
- Ensure progressive development of vocabulary, fluency, grammar, and confidence.
- Design a consistent lesson structure and academic framework.
Dialogue and Content Development
- Develop engaging real-life dialogues for everyday communication.
- Create story-based dialogue series that encourage students to continue learning.
- Ensure dialogues teach practical expressions, natural responses, and conversational confidence.
- Develop vocabulary lists, synonyms, idioms, phrases, and sentence-making exercises.
- Prepare comprehension questions and speaking activities for every lesson.
- Ensure content is age-appropriate, accurate, practical, and interesting.
Maya Tutor Interactive Learning Design
- Design student activities for practicing dialogues with Maya Tutor.
- Develop prompts and conversation scenarios for AI-based speaking practice.
- Create activities for speaking without reading, role-play, question-answer sessions, and spontaneous responses.
- Design repetition and revision activities to reinforce learning.
- Develop instructions for AI tutors to guide, encourage, and correct students effectively.
- Ensure interactive activities promote active speaking rather than passive listening.
Lesson Planning and Academic Production
- Prepare lesson plans, content briefs, and development schedules.
- Coordinate the production of scripts, exercises, assessments, and supporting learning materials.
- Standardize lesson formats, language difficulty, terminology, and instructional methods.
- Review completed lessons before approval and publication.
- Maintain organized documentation of curriculum, lesson versions, and academic standards.
Quality Assurance
- Review all educational content for grammatical accuracy and natural English.
- Check that each lesson meets its learning objectives.
- Evaluate the clarity, engagement, difficulty, and practical usefulness of learning activities.
- Identify gaps, repetition, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct pilot testing and incorporate student and instructor feedback.
Assessment and Learning Outcomes
- Develop quizzes, speaking assessments, and progress evaluations.
- Establish measurable indicators for vocabulary retention, pronunciation, fluency, comprehension, and confidence.
- Create assessment rubrics to track student improvement.
- Recommend remedial exercises and revision activities for students who need additional support.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate with English-language experts, content writers, instructional designers, AI developers, voice artists, and production teams.
- Assign and monitor academic content development tasks.
- Maintain timelines and ensure timely delivery of approved materials.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to management.
Requirements
- Master's degree in English, Applied Linguistics, Education, TESOL, TEFL, or a related field preferred.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Experience in curriculum development, English-language teaching, or educational content development.
- Understanding of communicative language teaching and practical speaking instruction.
- Familiarity with interactive learning, digital education, or AI-assisted learning is desirable.
